What is Podcasting?
Podcasting lets you listen any time, anywhere to your favorite WIP Sports shows. You can come to www.610wip.com and click on any button to automatically hear a show or interview through your computer. You can also click on . If you subscribe to any of the WIP Sports podcasts, anytime a new show appears on our website, you will receive it automatically on your computer. You will be able to listen to it anytime, anywhere on your computer or automatically sync it to your MP3 player (including your iPod) every time you dock it. In order to subscribe, you will need to download software like iTunes.

How To Podcast
STEP 1 Download and install a podcast aggregator (if you do not already have one). The most popular is iTunes.
Install iTunes on your computer: Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Choose Mac OS X or Windows 2000/XP. Click the Download iTunes button.
Windows 2000/XP: Run the iTunes Setup program, then follow the instructions to complete the installation. Open iTunes from Start > Programs > iTunes > iTunes. Mac OS X: Follow the instructions to complete the installation, then click the iTunes icon in your dock to open it.
Opening iTunes Preferences On a Windows computer, you can find iTunes Preferences by going to the Edit menu and selecting Preferences. On a Mac, you can find iTunes Preferences by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Preferences.
STEP 2 Subscribe to podcasts

- Click
on any WIP podcast.
- Open iTunes
- Copy the URL from the browser window
- In iTunes, click on “Advanced”. You will see “Subscribe to Podcast”
- Paste the URL into the window
- You are now subscribed. You should receive the WIP program in iTunes automatically on a regular basis (daily or weekly, depending on the show).
- You can choose to sync your iPod to download WIP podcasts to your iPod, or listen to them through your computer. Don’t forget to check back on a regular basis to listen.
Through iTunes
- Open iTunes
- Go to the Music Store
- Search for “610 WIP” or by name of your favorite WIP show or personality
- Click subscribe
- You are now subscribed. You should receive the WIP program in iTunes automatically on a regular basis (daily or weekly, depending on the show).
- Click Podcast in the Source list to see the Settings button on the bottom. You can use the Settings button to indicate how often you want to check for new episodes, and set which podcasts will be copied to your iPod.
- You may view and download past podcast episodes. To do this, select Podcasts within the Source list and click the arrow to the left of the podcast name. iTunes will reveal all downloaded and available episodes. To download a particular past episode, click the Get button.
- You can choose to sync your iPod to download WIP podcasts to your iPod, or listen to them through your computer. Don’t forget to check back on a regular basis to listen.
STEP 3 Syncing your iPod/MP3 Player
If your iPod/MP3 player is set to automatically sync, just connect your iPod to download a new podcast. To specify which podcasts you would like synced, open iPod preferences and click the Podcasts tab. Here you can specify which specific podcasts to sync.
OTHER TIPS:
Bookmarking feature When you listen to a podcast on your iPod, and then connect it to your computer and play it in iTunes, iTunes will continue the podcast from where you left off. In addition, when you sync to your iPod, the podcast will start where you left off.
Managing your podcasts In the podcast settings window you can select how many episodes of a particular podcast you will keep in iTunes. From the pull-down menu, you can select All episodes, All unplayed episodes or a specific number of episodes that you want to keep. Also, you can click the Unsubscribe button in the Source list to stop having new episodes of a specific podcast downloaded to iTunes.
