 
Last year, Sportsradio 610 WIP, in partnership with Univest National Bank and Trust Co., launched the “Student-Athlete of the Year Awards,” designed to help public and parochial schools in the region recognize 15 outstanding young men and women.
The “Student-Athlete of the Year Awards” recognize students who have learned how to successfully balance school work, athletics and community involvement.
In 2008, 610 WIP and Univest are proud to announce the addition of a $5,000 sholarship for all area high school seniors.” The student-athlete winner – nominated by teachers, administrators or student body and family - must demonstrate strong character, sportsmanship and leadership. The individual must be an accomplished athlete, outstanding student and dedicated community volunteer.
WIP and Univest National Bank and Trust Co. is proud to serve the local community and offer this $5,000 award to a deserving graduating senior.
Please submit your nominee via mail or email, and include the following criteria.
1. Student’s Name, Town and High School
2. Athletic Achievements
A. Sports of Participation/ High School Sports Teams
B. Awards and Achievements during high school career, including whether they will be continuing their athletic career in college, and if so, where.
3. Academic Achievements
A. Academic Achievements and awards.
B. Participation and Leadership in groups or clubs outside the realm of Athletics
4. Community Involvement
A. Any Volunteer or Service involvement in the community.
B. Awards or Acknowledgements given by business, civic or community organizations.
5. Why? Finally please include a short essay as to why your nominee would make a great choice for this award. Over and above the awards and achievements, what makes your nominee a special choice for the award?

All nominations must be submitted by May 23, 2008. A panel of judges will select the finalists by May 31, 2008 and post these profiles for the community to vote for their favoirte.
The winner will be presented with the $5,000 check by Univest and 610 WIP on air in June
