Brian Startare has been at WIP since February 2005. He currently hosts shows on nights and weekends at the station. He is also the pre and post game host for Philadelphia Flyers hockey. Brian also co-hosts The Hockey Show, with former Flyer Chris Therien during hockey Season and The Football Show that airs live on Saturday mornings from 7-10AM, during football season, which last fall featured co-host and former Philadelphia Eagle and night-time host Ike Reese.
Brian is also the WIP Eagles Training Camp Reporter at Lehigh University, and has also hosted Eagles post game shows, including the program Eagles Overtime.
Startare, a graduate of Rowan University in Glassboro, first performed sports updates for the station in 2005, occasionally working with The Morning Show with Angelo Cataldi, serving as a reporter for such events as Wing Bowl, Miss WIP, and other general field assignments.
Brian is also a contributor for CN8's "Out of Bounds" program shown nightly at 7 and 11:30 pm in Philadelphia. He is also the Public Address Announcer for the men's basketball program at Saint Joseph's University and a free lance columnist for The Metro Newspaper.
Startare, born in Philadelphia, and residing in South Jersey with his wife Andrea and their son Chase, is a life long follower of Philly sports, having owned season tickets to the Phillies and Flyers, and to the Eagles for the past 21 seasons.
